At a basic level Pandemic is a boardgame. Players start from a base, we call these “Labs”. when the game starts player depart from the Lab makeing their way toward infected airports across the map. landing at a specific airport gains you a sample, and reduces the infection by one. Pilots can carry any number of samples before returning to the lab. once they return to the lab their samples are consumed to research a fraction of the cure. When the cure research has been completed a Cure is developed. The cure is an infinite resource that can be distributed pilot to pilot or retrieved by returning to any lab.

Infections increase over the course of the game at pre determined intervals. as time progresses cards are drawn, normaly cards increase infection levels by one, however there is always the chance of an Outbreak which increases the level of the next airport by 3 levels. Whenever an airport would have its level increased beyond the maximum (level 3) it instead outbreaks. This causes all of the airports connected to it to increase by 1 level. This can cause a cascading outbreak.

Players must work together, by transporting other pilots, trading samples and distributing the cure.

Most flight sim events give you a an airport, a date and a time, Pandemic gives you a story we encourage Role-Play.

• There are stakes. Infection levels climb on a timer whether anyone is flying or not. The community wins by eradicating the disease worldwide; it loses if cities max out or the clock runs down. Every leg you and your followers fly has a visable impact on a global level.
• The game runs 24 hours a day. There are no fixed slots to work arround. Drop in for a two-hour stream on a Tuesday, or fly the finale live on the last night.
• Collaboration is the a core philosophy Samples get relayed between pilots. Your followers can be active participants, call the handoffs, and fly the next leg themselves. It turns a solo flights into a participation event.
• The routes are interesting. world wide events have about 40 airports across every continent, focusted on long-haul and medium-haul routes. Regional events are fast paced with ~20 airports focused on interesting regions and chalenging airports.
• Zero setup on stream. a fully featured “Meta Game” No plugins, no add-ons, no overlay work, nothing to configure on air. Flights are tracked and validated automatically — you file a flight plan and go.
• It is free, forever. Nothing to sell your audience.

Pandemic is a real time collaborative flight sim event based loosely on the board game of the same name. It is FSQuest’s most popular game, returning after an extended Hiatius

Pilots across VATSIM collect virus samples from infected regions and ferry them to a lab — solo, or by relaying a sample to another pilot partway. Once enough samples reach a lab, the community discovers a cure. Then the whole chain runs in reverse: pilots carry the cure back out, landing in infected cities to immunize them.

Meanwhile, infection levels rise on a timer. The community wins by eradicating the disease everywhere; it loses if cities max out or time runs out. It is a game of logistics, tactics and collaboration.

It plays out entirely on VATSIM. Every flight is tracked and validated automatically by our Outbreak engine, so participation is simple — there is nothing for a pilot to submit, log or claim.

Take any of these, or ignore all of them, The game is community driven by design.

• Fly the relay with chat. Pick up a sample, hand it off mid-chain to a viewer or another streamer, and let them carry the next leg. The handoff is the moment worth clipping.
• Run a community goal. create goals for your community. Has roles for everyone. quick reaction teams respond to emerging threats, Logistics Co-ordinators help plan routes, teams of pilots can plan multi leg routes. Pandemic gives your members a reason to keep flying between streams.
• Chase the finale. The last 48 hours, when the cure is being distributed and the clock is short, is the most dramatic window of the event.
• Let chat pick the route. Infected cities are visible on the public operations map. Ask the audience where you should fly next.
• Team up with another creator. Two channels flying a relay same is a natural collab, and the game handles the coordination for you.
• Just fly it. Why not? there is no commitment.

A post, a mention in your Discord, a shoutout on stream — whatever fits your channel. That’s the whole ask. we are just a club with a really fun game. Anyone can jump in and fly, including you and your audience, at any point at time durring the event.
